Soulful lyrics delivered by deep low end tones and buttery layers of harmonies, her voice is like “honey on a cold day”.
Inspired by love and the richness of life’s experiences, Brown-E paints poignant images that portray her overflow of wisdom. Lush vocals infused with raw emotion, arranged in delicious rhythmic flow, it is hard not to feel moved by her art.
Brown-E’s music reflect the musings of her heart and soul, presented with a vocal range that explores all of the notes in between that of a tenor and mezzo-soprano. She entwines these ingredients, into beats that have a particularly old school 90’s back bone.
The voice of Brown-E is organic, her energy is decadent and this can be felt in every soulful phrase.
She is based in Tauranga and Auckland, New Zealand. Her immediate ancestral lines tie her to Matakana Island and Samoa and she is strongly connected to her cultural roots.
Brown-E has worked with NZ hip hop producer Danny “Brotha D” Leaosavai’i. Her latest song Give Me Your Love was produced by Ricky Paul Muzik and she continues to collaborate with other NZ Hip Hop artists.
“Music has always been a safe space for me to express my feelings when I didn’t have anyone to help me process my emotions. I’m able to shine a light on the shadows I have faced, transmuting the dark into love and light and sharing messages of hope and encouragement with the world”.
