Although citing influences as varied as The Cure, Garbage, Nine Inch Nails, Fleetwood Mac, Stabbing Westward and Metallica; West Auckland based rock band Naquadah have developed their own distinctive sound.
Since the band’s first public performance in December 2002, they have maintained a busy schedule of recording and live performances. The band has played many of Auckland’s best venues (including the Masonic Tavern, the Kings Arms, the Poedium, the Roadhouse, and the Crook), where their energetic shows have been extremely well received. Naquadah also competed in the Waihi region of the 2003 National Battle of the Bands, where they played to a capacity crowd at the Regional Finals.
Naquadah recently completed their first single, 'Backlash', which was recorded at Area 51 Studios; produced by Malcolm Foster (Simple Minds, Pretenders), engineered by Mark Pavletich (8 Foot Sativa, Kosher), and mastered at Studio 301 in Australia by Don Bartley (The Living End, Powderfinger, Alanis Morrisette).
