4ManBob

Bio

4ManBob has existed since March 2001, and their list of performances on a local and national level is exploding. From headline performances in and around their home city of Christchurch to national tours organised and run by themselves with sponsorship backing, the band is forging ahead, independently creating their own underground fan base.

4 Man Bob is the brainchild of Nolan Hungerford, who called in a handful of like-minded, talented individuals, all drawing on their own inspiration, and so it began. 4ManBob’s aim is to make every show they do as much fun as possible for their audience as well as for the band.

They want to become known as a band that is approachable and easy to get along with, as well as playing great music!

Earlier in 2004 the band featured on TVNZ’s inaugural 24-hour celebration of New Zealand music, TV2 National Anthem, playing live to air to an estimated audience of 1 million viewers, a show which earned them independent industry recognition as one of New Zealand’s best live bands. As a result of this performance Basket Ball NZ picked up their song 'Lank' as the theme song for the Tall Blacks’ build up to the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, and the ZM national radio network got behind the band, increasing their national airplay coverage.

In Easter of 2004 4ManBob took 40 fans, 4 bands, a 50-seater bus and a whole lot of carnage on the road over 4 days, with NZ’s first ever Ultimate Road Trip.

Then in October 2004 the band financed their own mini-tour of Australia, playing venues from Brisbane, through Surfers Paradise and into North NSW.

The band currently enjoys airplay on several NZ national radio networks, including the ZM and Channel Z national networks, as well as airplay of the band’s debut music video, 'Lank' on Sky TV’s Juice music channel.

In addition to ongoing radio support from Channel Z and ZM in NZ, the band has benefited from airplay in Australia, as a result of the Queensland tour. The band conducted interviews to support their tour and album at 4ZzZ Brisbane 102.1 FM, and SUB FM in Melbourne have requested and are now playing 4ManBob.

4 Man Bob have appeared on the Unsigned Show on Channel Z, the Sheep Technique NZ Music show and Punk & Disorderly on RDU 98.5, and also Radio Active in Wellington. They also feature on the Christchurch music compilation 'Brat Volume III Marvin'.
