Dirty Frank's first gig took place in July at Christchurch's less than salubrious Emerald Club in 2000, which has since become an addition to the Christchurch strip-club scene. Although a reasonable success, rehearsing and performing a show full of covers only served to motivate the band to begin writing their own material for future endeavours.

Now, Dirty Frank are writing and recording with a view to more writing and recording and eventual world domination, groupies, awards, designer drugs and maybe even a support slot at the Dux de Lux.
