"Born in Palmerston North July 1980, I spent most of my childhood growing up in a small town called Toko in Taranaki where it was all the farm life. I started playing guitar at the age of ten, taking basic lessons at the local school hall. Once I started I never stopped playing, picking up the guitar every day."
"Teenage influences included Nirvana, Metallica and Pearl Jam but there were also many more. I joined a few school bands and grunged out until I turned 16 when I gradually shifted to Auckland to get work. At 17 I decided to form a band. We were called Grapeful Wrath (named after a wine the band was making at the time)."
"Never getting off the ground I then joined a band called Outshined, playing 90's rock covers. Again we never really got going, so when I got offered to join a band called Yeah Baby (named after the Austin Powers catch phrase), I did. We did numerous gigs around Auckland and later changed our name to Luka."
"In Easter 2002 I went and had a jam with my
cousin Josh. It went well and soon after I left Luka and started a band with Josh (vocals), brothers Kevin (bass) and Scott (drums) this was the start of 4Eulogi. After a year of gigging we got management contract and this really was the start of something big for us.... or so we thought!"
"We had some great times, we won the South Auckland Battle of The bands, we played in front of a 20,000+ crowd in Rotorua, we played the Good Morning show twice, we play on national TV on Top of the Pops, we were nomiated for best breakthrough artist of the year 2005 at the Juice TV awards with our video 'Over You'. These are things that I will never forget and feel thankful to have been a part of. But the music industry is a strange and painfully slow world and I did not like the way you have very little control over your songs and even what you wear!!! Also my musical tastes had shifted dramaticly over the 4 years in 4Eulogi."
"So the band decided to finish up and I have been focusing more on a Solo Acoustic style of playing which I am really only quite new at but it really feels like home."
