Stan Malcolm

Bio

The tide has been turning for Stan Malcolm, a finalist in the Java Jive singer/songwriter competition and semi-finalist in the Temple’s York Street Acid Test during 2000. Stan’s performances evolved from entertaining friends as the sun went down, to venturing into the limelight of public performance. In the last 12 months, these performances have included support for kiwi rock legend Graham Brazier (of Hello Sailor fame), First Night 2001 at the Aotea Centre and gigs at various venues around the country.

Stan Malcolm’s debut album featuring his cruisey acoustic style and heartfelt lyrics is due for release June 2001.

Whilst being a relative newcomer to the NZ music scene, Stan Malcolm has in fact been brewing his music over many years, with his homegrown songs a culmination of life experience to date. With his smooth acoustic guitar style, Stan Malcolm has produced strong melodic tunes with which he has shared and entertained his audiences, after many a sunset.

His acoustic soul-pop style, sometimes quirky, always passionate, speaks to the heart. His love of playing ensures a consistently enjoyable experience for his audiences.

From a background of playing in blues/rock bands, to singing covers in the soul revue band Platform, from being a Studio engineer behind the scenes to finally emerging as an original songwriter.
