Bio

Ov Pain is a dark experimental band consisting of the duo Renee Barrance (Élan Vital) and Tim Player (Opposite Sex) Formed in 2016 in Dunedin/ Aotearoa, New Zealand. Where they recorded (with renowned producer Forbes Williams) and released their debut self titled album in 2017 on Cocomuse, Zero Style and Vacant Valley records.

In 2017 they toured Germany and afterwards settled in Melbourne / Naarm, Australia. Where they quickly became an integral part of the indie/ underground live scene. In 2018/19 Ov Pain played extensively in Melbourne as well as touring Australia and New Zealand. During this time they were working on new material and eventually recorded The Churning Blue of Noon (It Records 2021) with Simon Maisch (Bitumen).

After going back to New Zealand (Auckland) for a short period during the Covid outbreak the band returned to Melbourne and released Kauri Island through Tender Collection in 2022. 2023 saw the duo release their 4th long playing album Reliquary of Dusk through Melbourne imprint It Records.

Renee plays Korg Minilouge, Korg ms20, vocals. Tim plays electron Octatrack sampler/ sequencer.
