Work on the new Photonic songs started in Auckland, 2008, just after I finished Recorded Contact. By mid 2009 I had invented the Beat of Infinity and gone solo.
After playing some solo live shows using this beat, I knew that it would also be fun and the best way to write and record the third Photonic album.
As always, I wanted the Photonic songs to be about riffs. How riffs could fit together to sustain original plateaus of feeling and how repitition and variation of heavy, non-downtuned riffs formed musical mantras.
The result is that all of the songs on Rif Mountains are using variations of the Photonic Beat of Infinity. Building on years of experiments with time, the Photonic Beat of Infinity uses subliminal bio-tempos and trance state awareness to achieve many desired results. For example, if you want to stop smoking, listen to Photonic while not smoking. If, however you want to smoke, listen to Photonic before, during and after you smoke.
Photonic can provide powerful magical protection from boredom etc if listened to correctly. Photonic helps you, the listener, to enjoy time. Let Photonic do the work for you. As the Photonic music actually goes into your mind, you may feel the improvement right away.
The Photonic guitar riffs and lyrical phrases are there for you now and whenever you think of them.
