Madeleine Lane singer-songwriter poet independent producer was formerly known by her birth-name Jane Matheson, vocalist and guitarist for folk band The Flat Earthers 1996-1998 and acoustic-electric band Between Earth and Sky 1998-1999 .

Madeleine began solo acoustic music performances of her own originals in 2000 after the breakup of the band due to the death of the band's lyricist Wellington poet Simon Williamson whose poetry published in Storyteller and Twenty Five Cars published after his death has been nationally acclaimed. The CD's Welcome to the Flat Earthers and Songs By Between Earth and Sky (the latter recorded by Mike Fomison), have never been released.

Under the independent label Imagine2 Productions the album To Aotearoa With Love was released underground in 2003.
