Brendyn Montgomery

Bio

Brendyn is one of New Zealand's star exponents of traditional Irish flute playing. In 2003 he earned a First Class Honours - M.A., in Traditional Irish Music Performance, having been the first ever kiwi to be accepted for the masters course in Ireland.

His CD 'Mountain Air', which also features fellow Cantabrian Mike Considine, earned Brendyn the 2003 Tui Award for Best Folk Album from the New Zealand Music and Entertainment Awards.

Brendyn is based near Christchurch in New Zealand's South Island and spends his time touring, recording and teaching the flute. Brendyn has also played on both Bob McNeill Tui award winning albums 'Covenant' & 'Turn the Diesels'.
