Immortality, to the uninitiated, are a dance/rock blend of high energy music. They take our roots from the theatre, though our music reflects influences from euro synth-pop culture, gothic rock and the baroque era.
"The Phantom Of The Opera...with a dance beat...and a touch of The Matrix thrown in for good measure. Blending a mix of modern and traditional instrumentations - though we prefer to draw obvious attention to the clash.
"Vampyres? Sure, we write about them a lot - and why not. Immortality is a collection of indulgences. Everything we grew up with...movies, theatre, rock, gothic darkness...its all here. Most of our material focuses around darker subjects (insanity, undead overlords, murdering phantoms...pretty standard stuff), though hopefully with a degree of tongue-in-cheek.
"Influences? Why, sure. Though not consciously trying to replicate, one can reflect back now and hear certain music-isms from Billy Idol, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Republica, Garbage...you choose.
"The Concept: Yes, there is a plan. Originally biased an a theatrical musical about a deranged wench who lived in a kind of sado-futuristic Transylvania. A place where Vampires are common folk, and the world had been divided. The script was basically forgotten, but the music proved too good to shelve. If you listen carefully, and read between the lines a bit, you can get this basic story line. We are planning on re-vamping (excuse the pun) the original show to incorporate our music in the near future. Stay tuned."
