Bio

Andy was born in May, 1974. He has had previous experience playing and writing music, in both bands and as a solo artist.

Hummel is a well established Wellingtonian purveyor of orb-style dub ambient and frippertronic guitar treatments. He combines field recordings, broken beats, atmospheres and acoustic guitar in a live audio collage, weaving an intricate blend of folk and glitch-click electronica into an organic latticework, from downbeat to beyond.

He has experience in playing and writing music, in both bands and as a solo artist, as well as presenting works of theatre and performance poetry, but is perhaps best known as either additional vocalist for pop-experimentalists Cloudboy, his live work with Rhian Sheehan and his remixs of The Black Seeds, Rhian Sheehan and Pitch Black.
