Siren Junkies

Bio

Siren Junkies (formerly Sonic) have supported some of New Zealand's big acts, such as Goldenhorse, Goodshirt, Anika Moa, Nathan Haines and Breaks Co-Op, and gig in the Auckland area at a variety of venues (Kings Arms, Dog's Bollix, Studio, R'totos and the Masonic to name a few).

Their first recorded music video for their debut single 'Sensible' [Independent Film Company of New Zealand, with producer Ivan Slavov] is currently getting airplay on TV2, has appeared as a Coke Fresh From the Fridge single and has had airplay on C4 as well. The video was self-funded.

Their second video for the song 'The Gift' was released on the 25th of February 2005. This was made in conjunction with the South Seas Film & TV School.

The band has just released its third video for their song 'Elevator' in March 2006. It has been described as "a riot of floor pounding WWF style action", and is getting television airplay on C4, Juice, Alt TV, XSTV and Maori Television. The song 'Elevator' was picked as a finalist in the DB Export Gold Ignition Competition and was quoted by amplifier.co.nz as being "a storming opening track on their EP Blonde".

In 2005 Siren Junkies released their four track EP 'Blonde'. Rip it Up Magazine (April/May 2005) reviewed 'Blonde' and were quoted as saying "… some of the catchiest, hook-filled songs you will hear all year…".

Siren Junkies has a number of articles already published on the band. In North & South Magazine, the In Unison Magazine, Reaktor Magazine and online at amplifier.co.nz and NZ Musician Magazine. The band has been interviewed on XSTV and Maori Television, with future scheduled interviews coming up on C4, ALT TV, Juice TV, and XSTV.
