These CDs are recorded on a Korg D1200, 12 tracks at 16 bit and 44.1KHz.
It was done in the spirit of early independent rock as in the 'Dunedin Sound' period. I was around then but was too busy with my career and relationships to get out and do it. However to recognise that pioneering period one of the songs on 'Recoil' has as its theme the Dunedin Sound and examines the juxtaposition of the conservative CBD with those on the edge bands burgeoning in its dark corners. 'Once a radical' from the 'Flying Boats' CD is also an examination of Dunedin days when Student radicals roamed but later metamorphosed into white collar businessmen of today.
So the recordings are raw and the abiding influences on presentation of the songs are along the Byrds - REM - Mutton birds kind of access. SL
