At 22, Singer /Songwriter Warner Newman is determined to take the world by storm and in doing so, contribute to the increasing number of Kiwi musicians making history on the international stage.
Warner has always had a clear idea of what he wants. From day one, he put together his bands himself, wading through weeks of auditions to find musicians with the right dynamic. Eventually it became obvious that his passion was to be a solo artist and he has since focused on this with the strong-mindedness of one who truly knows where his future lies.
He has been inspired and encouraged by meeting artists such as Ronan Keating, Destiny's Child and pop group A1 but the high point of his career so far was opening for UK boy band Blue. Warner has been interviewed for newspapers and on radio stations such as 91ZM and 91.8 More FM, the latter station consequently receiving many calls from interested young women! He also recently made the top 60 on NZ Idol, the only idol to sing his own song.
Warner holds down two jobs to finance his passion. Despite this, he practises up to three hours a day, working on vocal technique , harmony and song ideas. He knows exactly where he wants to be in five years and his immediate goal is a record deal and a NZ/UK number one single.
Many people are captivated by Warner's charm, talent and utter determination and have pushed and encouraged him to continue. He is adamant that with the help of a record company, it is only the small matter of time before he and his first single hit the world market.
