Rootskonductor

Bio

Rootskonductor are a six piece rock/soul band from New Zealand.

Having formed just under one year ago after the return of frontman Solomon Cole from the UK, they set about writing a live set and releasing a single.

'Let Me Be Your lover' is their first release from a forthcoming debut CD to be called 'Payola'. It's a back porch rootsy paen to a lovers reunion of a physical nature penned by Cole while living in London. It features on the current A/C Hitdisk.

It has the backing vocals of Sandy Mill who herself has worked with the likes of Basement Jaxx and Placebo. Second release will be live favourite 'Brand Nu Man' which has been mixed in London at Gordon Raphaels (The Strokes) studio by Nick Abbott... Look out for a limited copy soon!

The band are influenced by the likes of Macy Gray/Tom Waits/Nina Simone/Bob Marley and more contemporary artists alike, and have been gigging steadily for just over 6 months now across the country and building a live following as they go. Recently they opened for John Butler in Auckland.

Band Members:
Solomon Cole (vocals, guitar)
Ricardo Santos (bass)
Matt Stone (keys)
David Bergman (drums)
Sonia Saint (backing vocals)
Laura F (backing vocals)
