In January 2004, Mark had a vision to create something beautiful, intricate, and acoustic. Failing miserably, he settled for a four-man band, playing melodic, catchy, and original heavy rock music.
The band practised tirelessly, throwing out song after song in the quest to create the perfect 45-minute set. Again, a miserable failure. Their set was a mere 30 minutes. They threw themselves at the public anyway, and after playing a couple of shows they realized they weren't as terrible as they'd originally suspected.
At the Wellington Smokefreerockquest Regional Finals, the band came second and won the 'Best Original Song' award for 'Theory'. They released their self titled EP in July '04 and sold something like 60 copies, invoking comments like, 'You guys are a refreshing mix', 'Your lyrics really impressed me,' and 'You can actually sing!'
They've continued to play around Wellington with the likes of Autozamm, Goodnight Nurse, Wash and Slowdance. And have now released their second EP 'Photophobia'.
