Karma In Chaos (previously known as Prolepsis) are a four piece mainstream rock band based in Auckland, New Zealand.
Having performed for the last 10 years under the name Prolepsis with various line-up changes, in 2011 Karma In Chaos decided upon the name change to reflect new direction in the band, and a taste for their new more refined sound.
Frontman Riley Al-Johary projects mature song-writing with a voice to be reckoned with, while Nathan Garton’s guitar riffs pour out loud, thick and solid. Nathan “Paul” Field executes tight bass grooves that have enough “phat” to make even that obese guy at your gym look skinny, & the experience and volume of Carl Hayman on Drums provides the robust backbone of this potent brew.
To put it bluntly, Karma In Chaos’ sound can be described as “No Frills Rock” and “Damn Loud”. Their sound spans from acoustic ballads to intensified rock, which powerfully projects their emphasis on catchy hooks, and punchy energizing beats.
Karma In Chaos have previously released two EP’s, the first produced and engineered at On The Edge Studios in 2004 with the original line-up, and with an evolution of the band in 2008 into the current line up, Karma In Chaos released their second EP (2009) titled Revolve which was recorded at Counterpart Studios & mastered by Angus McNaughton (Che Fu, Kidz In Space, The Headless Chickens).
In late 2010 drummer Carl Hayman called upon the experience of studio producer/engineer Dave Rhodes (Blindspott, Michael Murphy, Tadpole) who had worked with before to help Prolepsis engineer two new singles that promise to take Karma In Chaos to the next level. Mastered by Steve McGough at Stebbing Recording Centre, these two upcoming singles from the band titled High Tide and Four Bronze Horses sound MASSIVE and promise to impress.....
Karma in Chaos are currently on hiatus.

Karma In Chaos Video Release Party ! Posted: Mon Nov 7, 2011 5:49 pm Now some of you may think that being in a rock band, we spend all of our spare time injecting heroin, throwing TV's out of the windows out of the penthouse suites that we stay in while touring the world eating a dozen brown M&M's hand picked by Del Preston, and throwing random left hooks at the media, however the reality is that we spend countless hours in practice rooms and recording studios trying to create some good sounds for people like you to listen to. GOOD NEWS ! .. we have something pretty special to celebrate. Over the last little while, we have been working with producer/engineer Dave Rhodes (the man who engineered Blindspott's first album, and has also worked with Tadpole, Crumb, Darcy Clay & Eye TV) to mash together an absolutely sweet sounding light hearted rock tune called "High Tide" which we have laid down at Stebbing Recording Centre, and had mastered by Steve Mcgough. To add to this little act of perfection, we iced the cake with a sweet new music video thanks to Steve & Rowan from Imago Dei Films which features actress Vanessa Riddell who has appeared on Shorty St, Jacqui Brown Diaries, and The Chronicles Of Narnia. WE WANT YOU TO SEE IT ! in fact, if you don't, well then its really just your own fault. Join us to come and celebrate the release of the new music video: - Friday November 11th alongside EMMA G BAND who will be releasing their debut music video/single "START" Its only a mere 10 bux on the door, and discounts for groups of 5 or more. Oh there is also a free shot of Jager on the door for every paying person until the bottle runs dry. TOTO restaurant - 53 Nelson St, Auckland Central (downstairs in the Bacco room). Doors open at 7.30pm, with a guest appearance from 3 piece acoustic trio "Oslo Brown". That's our first piece of excellent news. In other awesomeness, you can catch us perform the new single live on KIWI FM - Auckland 102.2, Wgtn 102.1fm @ 8pm on Tuesday 8th October for the Kiwi FM Acoustic Live Sessions, along with a small chat with the band "about life". |
