Roadrunner

Bio

Roadrunner were one of the more colourful and inventive bands of the early 90's Auckland New Zealand Rock Scene. Once described as the Chilli's meets Iron Maiden, the band thrived on diversity and pushing the boundaries of what was expected of the alternative rock scene.

Sometimes the band were a bit too outside the norm for certain crowds, but always were able to make people sit up and take notice.

Live Roadrunner injected a tongue in cheek approach which saw them covering songs like 'Whip It' by Devo, this included Drummer Todd Carnie stepping out to the forestage to play keyboards.

Known for having "Spinal Tap like" problems with drummers, Roadrunner finally found a line up that stuck and went on to TV appearances, radio play, and countless gigs.

Although the band split in December 1992, there is a whisper that they may get back together for one or two shows. Considering that their music is as valid today, possibly more so, than it was in 1992, this is a band to see if they do decide to reform.

Band Members:
CF Bedford (vocals, tambourine)
Anton Jelicich (guitar, vocals, keyboards)
Darren Werner (bass, vocals, keyboards)
Todd Carnie (drums, keyboards)
