Puppet initially formed in May 2004 with all band members having previously been in Tacit.
Live shows
The band have gigged extensively in Auckland with some rare excursions to Te Awamutu (March 2005), Silverdale for FarmFest (April 2006) and Mangahwai Tavern (March 2007). They have also played acoustic, unplugged shows in Devenport (x1) and Titirangi (x3).
Puppet live shows have become notorious for the bands ability to plateau melodic compositions and create moving soundscapes that build towards an experience bordering on the epic. The instrumentation and vocals are as capable of elegant, ethereal beauty as they are at raw, hard rocking. And the shows are a lot of fun too.
In June 2008 the band were invited to participate in the International Emergenza festival (www.emergenza.net) and have made it through to the NZ semi-finals scheduled to be played in October 2008. To coincide with this the band will be playing a free show at AUT Hikuwai Plaza on October 16th and recording these two shows for a Live EP release.
