In mid June 2005 Dane's old band Tripwire were preparing for the SmokeFree RockQuest and Dane was becoming really sick of the mucking around Tripwire were doing and he was sick of the punk junk that Tripwire were really gripping with both hands. After one really dreadful practice Dane decided that enough was enough and that it was the end of his days in Tripwire. On the way home he came up with the band name Death-monica, but after thinking about for a bit it was shorten to Dezmonica.
The next day Dane told Phillip about his plans and Phillip right there and then jumped on board. Now with two guitarists, Dezmonica need people to play the other instruments. After a while Anna forced her way into the band and plans to start recording a CD came about. Phillip and Dane started to write material for the CD, but when the time came to start recording, the plan was abandoned.
Over time the search for new members begin and eventually Phillip recruited Alex from his old band Kortion to bass and Anna called on Shani to drum for the band. Dezmonica and Dezmonica's first song 'Lost' and second song 'Nothing Left' were revealed to the world (Greymouth) at the SmokeFree RockQuest 2006. Plans for a CD are out as the band prepares for the World Administration Tour 06.
