In this modern age of uber-tweezed, grid locked, freeze dried rock music, The Defendants are a living, breathing testament to how it's really done. Harking back to the golden era of 70s rock, where British bands like Black Sabbath, Humble Pie and Free started to mutate American blues into newer, weirder, LOUDER forms of rock'n'roll, The Defendants add a dash of Detroit along the way and fuse it all together into a monstrous sound that winks knowingly at the past whilst striding headlong toward the future...
The foundation of The Defendants' sound is drummer Paul Hammond, who comes out swinging in tandem with the fat groove of Sam Lockley's Bass. Martin Sutcliffe lays on searing guitar firepower, while Master of Ceremonies Glenn 'Professor' Prosser's supernaturally powerful vocals belt out his own brand of thinking man's rock'n'roll insanity. Together, all four members create a huge sound that struts and swings as much as it bludgeons.
To witness The Defendants at close quarters is to see four seasoned performers obviously enjoying what they love to do. No performance is alike, and every ounce of sweat is offered up in pursuit of pure rock'n'roll power. Having shared stages with Airbourne, The Bleeders, Deja Voodoo, Luger Boa and many others, The Defendants live to deliver live, from Crow Bar to Big Day Out.
The Defendants have one mission: to bring real rock'n'roll to all before them.
