AppMantis

Bio

Drawing deeply from a series of influences who have proven themselves to be heavyweights in the stadium rock genre, New Zealand rockers AppMantis have forged themselves a style which sits somewhere between epic anthem ballads and attitude driven energetic hard rock.

With an obvious emphasis upon large scale production arrangements, tastefully offset by moments of musical intimacy, their style encourages a more universal appeal -- a genre which could be acknowledged by a discerning contemporary rock community while still being accessible to a more mature fan base, if only for the bands more introspective moments.

Singer and lyricist Simon "The App" McGrath weaves a strong mid ranged rock vocal presence through the layers of instrumentation wrangled by sidekick musician and producer Baz Mantis, whose previous incarnation as the driving force behind the avant garde alternative act The Saturn Door shows his effect laden video production techniques are still applicable for the more mainstream AppMantis.
