Bloodspill formally known as Phikshin is a four piece band from South Auckland, inspired bands like Tool, In Flames and One Must Fall.

Bloodspill is the first Melodic Deathcore band in New Zealand, influenced by Melodic Death Metal, Hardcore and Technical Death Metal bands, with rasping and melodic yelling vocals, epic guitaring, mind tattering bass, and techincal deathcore drums. This brings the listener to an adventure of their own back through Persian history.

Bloodspill was formed in May 2002 by Drew Reid (Vocals and Guitars) and Timothy Newman (Guitars) , the name of the band at the time was 'RevoC DC' this soon changed, Drew was on guitars at this time, then later changed to vocals. Later May, Matt Kuypers (Bass) and David Sheffelbein (Drums) joined the band then we renamed to 'Phikshin' under soft metal influences they created a tribal theme to fit with the music, after they had created an un-effective theme, they decided to change style of music.

Late 2002 we re-designed our current tracks to a harder and heavier metal, this had given us the idea to adjust to the style we were more happy with.. because of a significant change to this style of music, we renamed the band to 'Bloodspill' after created a larger atmosphere and architect we declared our theme to an extent where there is importance. With the original line-up we base our music on consequence's of false technology and where the future will lead us without the people voice, we are constructing a new world, back through history.
