DJ Sir-Vere

Bio

DJ Sir-Vere (Phil Bell) started the True School Hip Hop Show (bFM) and Late Night Hype (Mai FM).

He also ran Wrekognize, along with DLT, during the short period in which New Zealand had MTV.

DJ Sir-Vere has also had a big involvement in the local ITF. He operated Beat Merchants in Auckland, and used to be in a DJ group called 2 Cuts Klan with Sub-Zero.

DJ Sir-Vere, along with Paul Amlehn, organised Planet Rock at Auckland's Powerstation in 1988. Planet Rock was New Zealand's first 12 hour dance party, and needed a special license to stay open for that duration.
