Rotor+

Bio

Rotor+ started in 1996.

Sitting somewhere between noodly experimental electronica and ambient trip-hop boundary pushers Rotor+'s first CD Aileron is a sculpted sonic landscape. Inspired by a love of patterns, relationship, and the red sheds that dot our rural landscape, aileron explores subtly shifting aural landscapes sometimes empty, sometimes full as a background to the glorious landscapes of Aotearoa.

Two years ago Rotor+ and fellow mellow experimenters Empty Set released a quiet little album called Fragile.

Rotor+ also has tracks released on two Curious Records compilations. They remixed The Bats North By North which spent 10 weeks at #1 on the RDU student Radio top ten and reached #3 on the National Student Radio charts.

Rotor+ feature in the BFM CD compilation God Save The Clean and remixed guitar legends HDU for their Higher EP.

On top of all this, Rotor+ have also reworked tracks for the Salmonella Dub album Calming of a Drunken Monkey and remixed Baitercell, on their EP Prototype.

Rotor+ went on to release Map Key Window in 2004.

Rotor+ has toured with Salmonella Dub and have supported Spring Heel Jack, Technova, HDU, The Nomad & Oval. They are currently signed to Kog Transmissions.
