Otiose Me is Napier (New Zealand) based An Electric Heart's third, and final (under the An Electric Heart pseudonym at least) full length album. Recorded over a four year period, Luke Pell (Singer/songwriter behind An Electric Heart) made the conscious effort to take his time, and make this final album as close to perfect as he was capable of doing.
Luke Pell describes the An Electric Heart sound as “alternative pop”. The music is mostly electronic, with a distinctly '80s pop influence, often with double-tracked distorted guitars bringing a “wall of sound” to the choruses.
The album title Otiose Me is taken from a line in the closing track Epilogue (so long), a song that deals with frustration, and failing to find success in the music business, this is theme that threads it's way through much of this record. Other themes touched on being Luke Pell's straight edge lifestyle (Liquid Dream) and to an extend his social beliefs (Stars, The Feeling Good Grows).
Otiose Me is a digital release only, available here.
