Aotearoa’s Valere drops her delicious debut album, Colours, a flowing 13-track delight moulding together her luxe electro-pop sensibilities, late-90’s RnB flow with delicate, beautifully-written (and frankly, super relatable) subject matter that delves deep into love, heartbreak, longing and yearning.
Very much a personal recount of her own emotional travels, Colours seamlessly finds itself attached to ones own experiences, and in that respect makes every single track a pleasure to listen to.
"For years, colours and nature have helped me describe the various seasons of my life, none more than when I was coming into my own both personally and musically. This album is a document of my journey - of being pulled apart, purified and remade more into who I was meant to be. It’s me at my most vulnerable because these songs were first written for me and God. Now I’m ready to share the fruit" - Valere
Valere means 'to be worth'. This is the heart of her message, one that speaks about finding worth in the right place and the journey of the search.
