Independent artist from New Zealand Iris releases her latest track Don’t Wait Up. Don’t Wait Up is the first single taken from her forthcoming second studio album.

Don’t Wait Up is a song about living in the moment. Trying to make the most of every day. “I wrote the song one night in the studio with my producer, Charles Lutman in the midst of the world pandemic. We were inspired to make something more upbeat and up-lifting.”

Iris knew from an early age that she wanted to be a singer, songwriter and performer. She began writing music at the age of 8 years-old. She was in several rock bands throughout her childhood and began entering, and winning, many band-quests and songwriting competitions throughout her teen years.

Iris released her debut album Unlocked earlier this year. As an independent artist, it has proved great success on both YouTube and streaming platforms. (4M+ streams on Spotify, 2M + on YouTube) Her leading single from the album, Lay With You has received a lot of love for it’s dance inspired beats and catchy melodies. Amassing over 1M views and 1M streams in a short period of time, Iris has acquired a committed and steady-growing fan-base.

Based on the success of Lay With You, Iris has decided to release Don’t Wait Up as her follow up single. Another up-beat, pop number that is bound to get stuck in your head.
