One of New Zealand’s favourite duos Lee Mvtthews engages pop vocalist PRINS for a genre-bending release filled with explosions of their signature drum and bass sounds. Recently signing to ShockOne’s label Dark Machine Records, already this year the production duo have impressed the global drum and bass scene with their releases Turning Back and more recently Discipline. Now, they release Don’t Say It, a euphoric, vocal-driven single which has arrived just in time for summer!
Lee Mvtthews discuss how they linked up with PRINS, “The story of how we started working together is quite funny. PRINS sent us a dm on Instagram saying "hey guys I really like your music and would love to collab, I’m in Auckland on these dates x,y,z if you’re keen” so naturally I check out her Spotify, hear her sing one note, and I was sold. So we all got in the studio and wrote Don’t Say It” together!” PRINS adds “Don’t Say It is about that last chance before something comes to an end. When you’ve been done wrong and things are really at the last straw. You know that you’ll be okay but you're reaching out for that final decision. Working with Lee Mvtthews as been such an incredible learning experience for me. They create such a safe space to throw ideas around and really encourage your best work as an artist.”
Since Graham Matthews and Tom Lee aka Lee Mvtthews launched the project they have been unstoppable, releasing their debut EP Silhouettes in 2017, with the lead single Nothing To Lose earning them an award for ‘Best Track’ at the George FM awards. In 2019 the pair released their debut album with the lead single Takeover (Ft. Nu) hitting the number one spot on the NZ Dance Charts. Over the years, the production powerhouse duo have seen support from drum and bass legends, Grafix, Koven, Rene La Vice, ShockOne, Flowidus, Trei, QUIX and more. The renowned New Zealand duo have made regular appearances at festivals such as Rhythm & Vines, Bay Dreams, Homegrown, Springbreak Fiji, as well as warming up the stage for the likes of Sigma, Upgrade, Slumberjack and more. Most recently, they have been announced as finalists in the Best Electronic Artist category for the Aotearoa Music Awards 2020, cementing them as New Zealand’s hottest drum and bass act.
