We Will Ride Fast Shares New Single 'Bulletproof' + Video

04 October 2021 - 0 Comments

Dance-gloom merchant We Will Ride Fast returns with new single and video Bulletproof, a lush bass-driven foray into psychedelic alt-pop.

Bulletproof follows on from the February 2021 release of the genre-defying Emotional Molecules LP, out via Fight, Cave or Hole Records, exploring willful challenging of cognitive bias whilst lamenting the paradigm of the 21st century.

We Will Ride Fast is the contemporary alt-music project of Tauranga-based multimedia artist Kyle Sattler, who says, "I've come to a stage of my creative career where i no longer see a difference between experience-driven postmodernism installation art, and the existential machinations of any performing musician".

Concepts within art are found in music all the time, and so for Sattler, We Will Ride Fast is an artwork, and this idea is on full display in the kooky dimension-bending video for Bulletproof.

The video's styling takes inspiration from the evangelical method of door-knocking as a means of spreading an objective truth; ironically juxtaposing this strategy against the role the musician plays in society, and the proposed separation of artist and character if viewing We Will Ride Fast as an artwork.
