New Zealand alternative rock/emo band How To Escape Reality have released a Christmas single Not Another Pop Punk Christmas. The song is available now on all major streaming platforms.

The song explores the idea of loneliness at Christmas time. It is a topic that the band understands, having spent holiday times away from friends and family since moving away from Chengdu, China where they grew up. The song was written in collaboration with Mason May, a good friend of the band members from their days in China.

How To Escape Reality formed in 2020, as songwriter Samuel Fistonich enlisted the help of his brothers and his wife to create a sound reminiscent of 2000's rock music. The band draws influence from their time growing up in China and their individual journeys of discovering who they are and how they fit in this world.

Not Another Pop Punk Christmas is on all major streaming platforms and is available for purchase on Bandcamp on a pay-what-you-want basis.
