A significant anniversary of an album release is really something worth celebrating, and that is why Lips are delighted to announce that their debut full-length album I Don't Know Why I Do Anything has been out 8-and-a-half months today! To celebrate, the band have planned an entire WEEK of festivities and treats.
Out today is a fresh new video for Not Today (voted top 21 songs of '21 by influential LA radio station KCRW), directed by Lips drummer Fen Ikner. The clip sees the character of Lips, for whom the band is named, discovering and following a rope which leads her on a surprising journey across Tāmaki Makaurau.
Not one but two new remixes of tracks from the album will also be released across the course of the next week: Heave Ho! by DJ Sweat, and What The Hell by the band's very own spacemaude. The tracks will be released at random intervals on Lips' social media channels, along with inside scoops and special giveaways.
Lips were recently announced as a finalist in the 2022 Taite Music Prize. They have been nominated for I Don't Know Why I Do Anything, which as you know is 8-and-a-half months old today.
I Don't Know Why I Do Anything is available for sale as a vinyl LP and digital album via Bandcamp.
