deepState is the musical project of Jessica Morgan (she/her), a musician and songwriter based in Tāmaki Makaurau. Her music is a journey of electronic experimentation, through House, Electronica, Downtempo, Trip-Hop and Witch House.

Today deepState shares MMXXI The Remixes, where seven of her contemporaries remix, edit and rework songs from her 2021 debut MMXXI.

"I'm so happy to have MMXXI The Remixes out," says Morgan.

"It was so interesting to hear how each artist reinterpreted the songs, there's such an eclectic mix of genres and approaches within the record that provide a totally fresh take on the original track."

MMXXI The Remixes presents seven truly distinct remixes. The EP begins with Dbldbl's vibey laidback hip hop, and is followed by Van Staden and Böhm's 170bpm homemade hardcore. Sonya Waters delivers a sparse aural landscape, while Trapjaw Kelpie brings his frenetic triggered samples and electronics. The Big Fresh Collective's Liam K Swiggs is on brand with his signature 160bpm breakbeats and Baby Zionov produces a standout ambient club mix. Finally Grecco Romank offer their brand of industrial bogan techno to round out the release.

Morgan reflects "I feel so fortunate to have these talented people rework my music so a huge thank you to everyone that contributed."
