Reuben Hudson is thrilled to announce the release of their latest single; Gasman available everywhere on July 22nd, 2022.
Gasman is an alternative indie-punk rock song written and produced by multi-instrumentalist and prolific songwriter Reuben Hudson. It features David Harris (Jonathan Bree, Princess Chelsea) on drums, and was mixed by Peter Ruddell (Wax Chattels, Sulfate, Dick Move). The single will be on streaming platforms July 22nd.
This follows Drag featuring Jade Lewis, Reuben’s most successful release to date; sitting at #1 on 95bFM’s top 10 for three consecutive weeks, as well as charting in the Radioscope and SRN Charts. Gasman sees Reuben playfully and ironically vent frustrations of hospitality work, bad bosses, and existentialism in the work place through the lens of a gas-station attendant.
“Light up and smoke as you fill up. I won’t be telling none of my minders, I work the night shift for peace and quiet.”
While Drag was recorded DIY in his bedroom, Gasman sees Reuben taking his work in a new, collaborative direction; teaming up with long-time collaborator David Harris, who delivers a standout performance on this track. Gasman was mixed by Peter Ruddell, and mastered by James Goldsmith. The result is the most cohesive and powerful identity Reuben has presented listeners with yet, and his eclectic creativity shines in this professional setting.
Gasman is the first single in the rollout of a studio recorded EP, with the next single and the full EP both set for release in Spring, 2022.
