Simon Oswald (he/him), Jono Glenday (he/him), Sam Cussen (he/him), Sam Shepherd (he/him) make up Long Distance Runner, an aggressive rock group based in Tāmaki Makaurau, and Ōtepoti, Aotearoa.
Their music takes influence from 90s shoegaze and East Coast screamo, delivering a dissonant fury unrivalled by most.

The sounds on Shadow are unique within Aotearoa's musical landscape. Tracks heel turn between ominous clouds of distortion, and punishing blast beasts. Songs are built on dissonance and discordance, they ignore routine song structure and are extremely tough.
“We wrote and recorded Shadow over the last three years so it feels great to have it out," says guitarist Jono Glenday.
"We’ve loved playing many of the songs live and it’s exciting to have recorded versions that we’re proud of and capture the right energy.”
To celebrate the release of Shadow, Long Distance Runner have announced they will tour throughout Aotearoa in 2022.
In July the band will take on Te Ika-a-Māui, stopping in Kirikiriroa on July 15 at Last Place, Tāmaki Makaurau on July 16 at Whammy Bar, Te Whanganui-a-Tara on July 29 at the Haitaitai Centre (All Ages), and Te Papa-i-Oea on July 30 at The Stomach (All Ages). In September they will play in Te Waipounamu, passing through Ōtepoti on September 23 at The Crown and Ōtautahi on September 24.
Tickets are available through Undertheradar.
