Nothing explores the desire to feel appreciated and taking the steps to detach yourself from people that seem like they’re glowing yet leave you in darkness. Like moths to a flame, we cling to the good in hope of erasing the reality, but the dissatisfaction of feeling like nothing can eventually swell into a yearning to feel like something.
Drawn from a past experience, Nothing was written in 2020 and remains one of Keira’s favourite original songs. Having produced their first three singles with Molly Devine, it was only natural for Keira to work with Molly again in her creative-haven home studio. Together they layered the sweeping, expansive harmonies and mellow guitar to bring immense depth to Keira’s fourth single release. After being approached by the Otago Polytechnic, a music video was produced by Liana Elsie, a Bachelor of Design student. These both highlight the incredible collaborative opportunities available within the arts community of Dunedin.
Known for their gentle sounds and reflective lyrics, Keira Wallace is a young indie musician whose music embodies the warm, enveloping feeling of the forest. From picking up the guitar at age 11 to now releasing their fourth single Nothing, Keira continues to grow as an artist and this release further reinforces the floaty, wooded vibe captured in their songs.
