Straight off the back of the triumphant release of her new album, Slow Burn, the award-winning Mel Parsons has today shared the video for the single, Failure.

The 11-track Slow Burn debuted at #3 in the Official Top 40 album charts and #2 in the Top 20 NZ album charts, while receiving glowing reviews. Listen to the album HERE

“By name and nature, Slow Burn, the new album from alt-folk storyteller Mel Parsons, is pure platonic poison” – Rolling Stone AU/NZ

“Mel Parsons is in the same class as Reb, Nadia, Marlon, Delaney and Tami, those we identify immediately by their first name only. So she’s simply Mel. And she’s terrific. Again” – Graham Reid, Elsewhere

The album includes stand-out tracks Carry On, Already Gone and Slow Burn. Now as the Lyttleton-based artist kicks off her nationwide tour, she’s also delighted fans with an exquisitely shot video for another of the record’s highlights, Failure.

Made by Aotearoa television and film stalwart, Simon Mark-Brown, the video for Failure is set in Lyttleton’s iconic Wunderbar and sets Parsons in a dreamy and reflective light, in which she’s looking in upon her own world. It’s a gorgeous clip, which acts to only intensify the emotions already provoked by the song, which is already proving to be a fan favourite.

Parsons says Failure is also a favourite to play live and she’s looking forward to getting back on the road with her full band for the 11-date nationwide tour, which begins in Napier this week on Friday, October 7. It continues to Palmerston North (October 8), Tauranga (October 13), Hamilton (October 14), Auckland (October 15), Wellington (October 16), Christchurch (October 29), Kerikeri (November 18), Nelson (November 24), New Plymouth (November 25) and Dunedin (November 26).
