We Will Ride Fast Share Sophomore LP - 'Army Of Invisible Zombies'

21 April 2023 - 0 Comments

Tauranga-based psychedelic post-synth solo artist We Will Ride Fast, is delighted to present Army of Invisible Zombies, a nine-track collection of refined and sonically mature fuzzy alt-pop/punk nuggets. The musical output of singer/multi-instrumentalist and multimedia artist Kyle Sattler (Frayden, Seedy Burners), We Will Ride Fast, as the Prince Rogers Nelson of the Bay of Plenty, delivers a genre-defying, hybridised sound that plays with and intertwines elements of alt-pop, psychedelic/gloom/industrial rock, with heavy bass and keyboards.

Army of Invisible Zombies is We Will Ride Fast's sophomore LP, funded as a research project by Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology in Tauranga. The project sets out to explore both the production of, and marketplace for contemporary New Zealand-produced vinyl, and asks the question, "What are the essential skills required for independent DIY musicians within the 'primarily' domestic music scene?"

Be sure to take in the accompanying lead single and music video for title track Army of Invisible Zombies, a track decrying the loss of indigenous and esoteric knowledge, all wrapped up in a nostalgic video featuring none other than the champion racer, Paul 'Pins' Sattler, and his 1965 FED (Front End Dragster), 'Vindicator'. Being a family affair, We Will Ride Fast tagged along for a few memorable days filming at the infamous Meremere dragway. Petrolheads and bogans alike are going to go all squeamish for the GoPro car-cam footage and lingering stench of burnt rubber.

Army of Invisible Zombies is available digitally via all the usual places, and a bonus 10-track version can be found throughout Aotearoa at your favourite vinyl merchant pressed onto 180 gram solid red 12-inch.
