Up-and-comer Sam Cullen has today released a music video for his infectiously catchy recently released single Forever.
A fun performance video, Sam has proven that getting together with a ‘heap’ of mates is a great recipe for a video. “I’m super lucky to have a lot of creative friends around me. DOP’s Eden Catterall and Yssy Smith have done an amazing job of capturing the energy in this track. We got the band in for the shoot as well as a small group of close friends who hung out and were super supportive the whole day. It was a pretty cool atmosphere on set.” As well as the energetic band performance, there are behind-the-scenes footage filmed on old school cameras. “I wanted it to be a fun, wholesome visual which is exactly what we’ve got.”
Forever the single is an absolute confession of love - snapshotting the moment in time when a person realises they’re head-over-heels, but also scared to admit it. It came to life during the first session Sam had ever done with songwriter/producer Ben Malone (Blake, Luca George, Bexy, MACEY, Rory Noble) and songwriter Harry Parsons (MACEY) at Parachute Studios.
Sam Cullen is a 22-year-old musician who was born and raised on the edge of the world in Invercargill - the bottom of Aotearoa New Zealand. With genuine lyrics drawn from lived experience and a rock and roll meets pop driving energy, the now Auckland-based artist is a force to be reckoned with. Since his EP Run (2022), Sam has honed his stadium rock influences and has begun a new era of releases with single Forever - the first track from Sam’s next body of work. Over the past 3 years, he has released two EP’s, played on some of NZ’s biggest stages (including main stage at Rhythm & Vines), sold out a number of headline shows and played support slots around the country. Previously a solo performer, Sam now has a 5-piece live band that brings an incomparable onstage energy - so make sure you don’t miss out and follow now!Photo Credit: Eden Caterall
