Hellos and Frowns is a striking addition to the duo's musical repertoire. The song provides a unique viewpoint into the world as seen through the eyes of their young son. Bird Machine explains, "the song tries to give one perspective on what life might be like for someone with autism," hoping to bring greater understanding to the diverse experiences of individuals on the spectrum.
Along with the track, Bird Machine is also unveiling a music video 6.30pm Friday 21 July, directed by filmmaker Anthony Butters, with Tim Butters as Director of Photography and Chanelle Butters as Art Director. The video’s split into three distinct acts - portraying the duo in various settings, mirroring the fluctuating emotions - from playfulness to solemnity - that their son experiences.
