Today, The Beths release Expert In A Dying Field (Deluxe), on Ivy League Records. Sprawling over two LPs, Expert In A Dying Field (Deluxe) is pressed on blue-green marble vinyl (an Australia and New Zealand exclusive) and is available to purchase here. The release comes after the recent news that The Beths are Top 5 finalists in the 2023 APRA Silver Scroll Awards alongside Marlon Williams, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and more, plus have been nominated for Best Record and the Global Award in the Rolling Stone NZ Awards.

Expert In A Dying Field (Deluxe) expands upon the brilliance of The Beths’ chart topping 2022 album, “another collection of tunes that cements their status as one of the great guitar-pop bands of this present moment” (Stereogum), with three demos – including Expert In A Dying Field (Demo), two acoustic renditions, and the inclusion of previously-shared one-off singles A Real Thing and Watching The Credits. The latter has already been deemed one of 2023’s best songs by Rolling Stone and Paste, who praised Watching The Credits as “a terrific, heat-seeking missile of glittering guitars and steadfast percussion work” that “speaks to how they endure as one of the most exciting rock bands in the world right now”.

The third studio album from The Beths, Expert In A Dying Field was released to a wealth of critical praise, and was named one of 2022’s best releases by the likes of Pitchfork, The Ringer, Stereogum and more. Surrounding its release, The Beths were profiled by Rolling Stone, Document Journal, The Big Takeover and more, and made their U.S. television debut on CBS Saturday Morning plus performed a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR. The Beths are undeniably one of the most exciting indie rock bands to emerge in recent memory.

Following several months of touring throughout the UK, Europe and North America, including a recent US east coast tour supporting The National, The Beths will commence a 10-date US tour supporting Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service, alongside some almost entirely sold-out headline shows. The band will round out the tour with three headline shows in Los Angeles and four in New York City, most of which are already sold out.

Expert In A Dying Field (Deluxe) is a gift to fans – both old and new – and cements The Beths’ applauded third record as a modern day classic.
