Flynn Adamson Releases 'Runaway'

24 September 2023 - 0 Comments

Up-and-coming Christchurch Artist Flynn Adamson is back with his new single, a pop-rock summer anthem, Runaway, out on now. Listen to Runaway HERE.

Runaway’s upbeat energy stems from a mix of bubbly pop production, big driven guitars and Flynn Adamson’s Fresh Heart felt vocals. The song dives into the struggles of dealing with anxious thoughts, and other challenges many young people face.

Runaway is about trying to escape the chaos of life by quite literally running away to another place.” - Flynn Adamson

Written/produced/composed by Flynn Adamson “The majority of the single was recorded/produced at home in my bedroom,” other than some extra vocal takes recorded at Ziggy Studios with Liam Crawford. Runaway was mixed by Liam Crawford (Ziggy Studios) and mastered by Marley Sola (Mellow Studios).

In terms of style, Runaway Gives us a glimpse into the direction Flynn-Adamson is moving toward with his upcoming releases.

First emerging onto the music scene with his single at 15 years old, with Pretend, Flynn gained traction with over 12,000 plays, then going on to release Thought earlier this year. Runaway, his most recent single is out now.

“I've had a blast delving into vibrant Pop, and the high energy feel of Rock. Throughout my life, I've been passionate about crafting my own unique sound. I produce, compose and write my own lyrics, this means that from the initial spark of an idea to the finished product, my music reflects precisely how I want it to sound.” - Flynn Adamson.

“It's surreal Looking back at what I wrote Runaway about, and how listening to it soothes those negative emotions I felt at the time.” - Flynn Adamson.

Pop-rock artist, 17-year-old Flynn Adamson, is a heart-felt pop/rock artist who writes and navigates the territory of life through his music.

Growing up in the rustic port town of Lyttelton, he earned his stripes down at the markets when he was just seven, playing off-the-cuff Santana-inspired originals to locals.

“I struggled with my hearing a lot as a kid, went in and out of clinics, the hospital, and tried numerous procedures. When I finally had full hearing, I fell in love with music right away, and it has continued to inspire and motivate me ever since.” - Flynn Adamson.

Flynn can’t remember a time he wasn’t writing, playing the guitar or singing. He’s also been mentored by Kiwi artists Bazi Baker, Josh Mac and Marley Sola, and taken it to church with the songwriting gospel singing group The Thursday Collective, from Mellow Studios.

Highlights have been placing 3rd in solo duo category of NZ’s Smokefree Rockquest this year live at Q Theatre in Auckland, Also winning best electronic performance. He has also opened for The Eastern at outdoor music event On the Point in Diamond Harbour, and for Emma Dilemma at iconic Christchurch venue Rolling Stone, alongside a variety of local gigs.
