It’s been three years since The Beths embarked on their impossible Aotearoa tour,
playing to thousands while most of the world was still social distancing and staying home with Covid running rife. In what turned out to be the calm before the storm, Liz Stokes, Jonathan Pearce, Ben Sinclair,
and Tristan Deck played a mammoth run of nationwide shows in 2020, including a sold out evening at the Auckland Town Hall — and the band had the brilliant idea to bring frequent visual collaborators Sports Team along for the ride.
Officially released in September 2021, The Beths concert film Auckland, New Zealand, 2020 will be screened publicly for the first time on Tuesday the 14th of November at delightful Avondale cinema The Hollywood, ending with a full band Q & A hosted by Jesse Mulligan (The Project, RNZ). Not only does the film feature epic performances of tracks from Jump Rope Gazers and Future Me Hates Me,
Auckland, New Zealand, 2020 reveals precious moments from the road, behind the scenes shenanigans and high-stakes bird watching.

Tāmaki Makaurau production company Sports Team is behind the screening event to fundraise for their Untitled Sports Team Horror Film.
Sports Team (Annabel Kean & Callum Devlin) are joining forces with writer Finnius Teppett (Taskmaster NZ, 7 Days, The Citizen's Handbook) and actors Alice May Connelly (This Town, Sweet Tooth, Daffodils) and Samuel Austin (Wellington Paranormal, Lowdown Dirty Criminals) this summer in rural Canterbury to shoot their debut feature film.
Turns out making movies is expensive, so before the crew heads south they’re
running a Boosted campaign and several screening fundraisers (including this one) to help cover costs. Watch the Boosted video below, check out their campaign, and please share.
