Ōtautahi Quintet This Dog Release New Single 'Bug Eyed'

18 October 2023 - 0 Comments

The rise of Ōtautahi’s This Dog could be compared to a salivating Spike from Tom & Jerry. The dog let off his chain bursting out of his kennel, sprinting at a ravenous pace. Their new single Bug Eyed is the first new material they’ve dropped since the release of their 20 minute EP Clean Living, which is being pressed to vinyl as the winner of Monster Children’s Waxed competition. The quintet’s thunderous sound shows the garage-isms of Pavement’s discography but also the cathartic midwest attitude of groups like Modern Baseball or Mom Jeans.

A world class emo/alternative rock band emerging from suburban Canterbury, an area caught in a permanent drum & bass phase, isn't something any of us saw coming. It's safe to say we’re astonished. Get yourself up to speed with all things this dog and stream Bug Eyed at the links below.
