Failsafe Records are excited to present the first new material from Beat Rhythm Fashion since 2019’s Tenterhook Album and the early recordings Beings Rest, Finally Disc. To be fair it was 35 years between those 2 releases and the bands previous efforts in 1981 with their classic trilogy of 7 inch singles including the now iconic Turn of the Century which were collated on 2007s Bring Real Freedom CD.
The band set out to pick up exactly where they left off (in 1981) for their 2019 effort and that’s exactly what they did, channeling their “ahead of their time” melodic postpunk/proto-shoegaze/dreampop to a new mellinium with class and style.
They followed the album release with a highly successful NZ tour to mesmerised audiences and returned to their bases in the outer reaches of Wellington, Australia and Japan to work on their followup, the forthcoming Critical Mass album due in Feb 2024, delayed somewhat by a world wide pandemic.
The band pull no punches and make no consessions in their new work and the first single from the album is out this Friday 20th October.
No Wonder sees the band in their ‘distant observer position’ contemplating almost 4 decades of changing but not changing world landscape, delivered of BRF’s trademark ethereal mesmeric melodic and beautiful music.
No Wonder is at once classic BRF on par with their iconic back catalogue but also take the band forward in terms of song craft and the honing and developing of their sound.
