C.Zukey Unveils New Song 'Water Temple'

14 February 2024 - 0 Comments

This Valentines Day Really Nice Records is thrilled to share a new single from C.Zukey called Water Temple. This is the second song from his forthcoming debut album Stone Fruut produced by Mark Perkins (Merk]/{Marlon Williams) and mixed by Shannon Fowler (Tom Lark).

Written in the wake of C.Zukey's wife suffering a hypoxic brain injury during the birth of their first child; Water Temple paints a poignant picture of a man navigating the complexities of love and profound commitment in the aftermath of a life changing event.

C.Zukey reflects on writing the song, saying “Water Temple was written maybe 6 months after Lydia’s brain injury when I suddenly had a huge wave of energy, enthusiasm, and optimism. I ran my guitar through some new pedals I bought and happened upon this really addictive rhythmic delay. To me the rhythm felt really exciting but also carried a sort of anxiety to it. We ended up running a few of the instruments through that same delay so the track is just swimming in it.”
