Auckland-based band Dead Fools Fiesta will release of their self-titled debut album on Monday April 19th.
Dead Fools Fiesta are an unique 4-piece rock reggae band with a Spanish feel. The band (formerly known as The 4 Mexicanos) formed three years ago within the misty jungles of the Waitakere Ranges, Auckland. The four members of the band are Jude Hassett (vocals, keyboard), Adam Wilburn (guitar), Jack Graves (bass) and Jon Hart (drums).
Through playing countless shows over the last three years around the North Island, Dead Fools Fiesta have gathered an impressive fan base. This can be seen at any of their performances, where it’s not uncommon for capacity crowds to be checking out their powerful, intellectual and fun sound.
Over the past two years Dead Fools Fiesta have performed with bands such as House of Shem, Tahuna Breaks, Unity Pacific and Skankamelia. Notable performances have included Auckland City Soundclash, Xfest 09, Toots and Grooves festival and the Piha Quicksilver Keyhole party.
2008 saw the release of their debut self titled EP under their former name, The 4 Mexicanos. This release helped cement the band as an integral part of the Auckland Ska/Reggae scene.
Dead Fools Fiesta now have their sights set on the wider New Zealand audience, with ambitions to expand to foreign shores. The band’s ascending reputation shows that this is the space to watch.
See Dead Fools Fiesta live at their Album Release Party. Saturday 17th April at Galatos Bar, Galatos street, Auckland.
