Today sees the release of Syncopate, the debut album from NZ singer-songwriter Nur Peach. Following four upbeat pop singles and a colourful music video for Offbeat, Syncopate will see Nur experiment with electropop while not forsaking her folk singer-songwriter roots.

Born and raised on the Coromandel Peninsula, Nur Peach has been singing and writing songs from a very early age, and had written more than 200 songs by the time she finished high school. Nur has extensive performance experience under her belt, both in New Zealand and around the world. This experience includes performances at the NZ Spirit Festival, Auckland Folk Festival and the legendary Prana festival, performances in Israel and busking on the streets of Paris. In 2016, her original song Feel The Sun made her the Waikato regional winner of the Play It Strange Get Connected songwriting competition, a competition for New Zealand high-school age students. Her recent single release Offbeat had a positive reception, being featured on Indie Music Center and Muzic.net.nz.

Syncopate was produced by Auckland producer Scott Seabright. While some songs are produced in a modern electropop style, others go for a more traditional folk singer-songwriter sound, with real instruments taking centre stage. Nur says this album is a diary of her first year at university. It explores themes such as coming of age, self discovery and the struggles that come with being a little different. In her lyrics, Nur takes a positive angle, encouraging listeners to take positive risks and be true to themselves.
