Two decades after Tide's Arising dropped worldwide, Mashibeats is releasing the album in instrumental form for the first time on streaming platforms, stripping away all the vocal guests to let the listener soak in the details and nuances of the sonic creations crafted by Mark de Clive-Lowe with rhodes, synths, MPC, vocoders, samples and featuring the likes of bass legend Pino Palladino, percussionist Miguel Fuentes, brothers Nathan and Joel Haines and others. Timeless creations crossing the spectrum of jazz, funk, soul, broken beat, boom bap and more.

Producer, pianist, keyboard player and remixer Mark de Clive-Lowe has spent the last 25+ years pioneering across the worlds of jazz and club music prompting Jazziz to state "way before jazz hybridity became a worldwide phenomenon, de Clive-Lowe was busy designing its blueprint”. Part of that blueprint was unleashed on the world in 2005 when MdCL released his second international album, Tide’s Arising.
Having raised expectations with his critically acclaimed worldwide debut Six Degrees, a stunning remix of Shirley Horn’s Return to Paradise and the 2000 Black and Masters At Work co-signed club classic Relax… Unwind, MdCL didn’t disappoint with Tide’s Arising - in his own words back in 2005, “I wanted to create an album that captures everything I want music to sound like today”. The album firmly solidified MdCL’s reputation as an inspired musical pioneer, fusing sounds of the day in a way that bridged dancefloors, radio and car stereos around the world.
Popmatters described Tide’s Arising as "modern flourishes abound, each song pulsing with washes of keys and the bristle of drum machines and samples. The past made future, once again”, while Canada’s Exclaim declared "truth be told, you’d be hard pressed to find any filler here... de Clive-Lowe's obvious meticulous approach and attention to detail have yielded an essential and tautly constructed release."
